Network Services
NTSU’s cable networks have been implemented in every building within the University, while the wireless network services are also available in the Administration building, the Science and Technology building as well as the Teaching and Research building, with the installed bases named “NTSU_AP”. To log onto the wireless networking, it is required to enter the registered email account and password authorized by the University.
(1) Campus Network IP Allocation
The chart illustrates the allocation of campus network IP address for students’ dormitory, single dormitory and on-duty dormitory. To connect to the campus network, simply follow the configuration procedures according to the attached chart.
(2) To make a local area connection
l To open Network Connections, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network Connections.
l Automated IP settings should be used whenever possible for all connections. If not available, Right-click the connection you want to configure, and then click Properties
l If the connection is a local area connection, on the General tab, in This connection uses the following items, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
l Click Use the following IP address, and in IP address, type the IP address and click Enable to complete the configuration. (Refer to IP Allocation)
(3) To make a wireless network connection
l Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network Connections, click the Networks Icon () in the notification area or displayed at the lower right corner of the desktop to make a Wireless Network Connection.
l Click Connect to a network.
l Select “NTSU_AP”, and click Connect, wait for connection.
